Lena and Vasia are happily married with two children, until a domestic conflict spirals out of control, with a chain of events leading to an angry conclusion. In the heat of the moment, Lena and Vasia tell each other that they can live without one another, and they get their wish. From now on, Lena lives in a world without Vasia, and Vasia lives in a world where Lena is absent. Everything else remains unchanged - they have their children, neighbours and relatives.
